Four Star Mushrooms

This client grows and provides quality mushrooms to local restaurants and major grocery chains at a 10,500 square foot facility in an economic development zone on the West side of Chicago. Renovations worth approximately $2 million have been completed in this space to provide 17 fruiting rooms with finely tuned climate controls. The business thrives on being able to maintain various growing conditions for many popular mushroom varieties including Blue Oyster, Lion’s Mane, and Reishi. We served as the owner’s representative through facility design, equipment procurement, contractor selection, construction completion, and commissioning. This project started in 2023 and reached substantial completion in March 2025; however, the project continues to grow as new grant funding becomes available and will likely have a new phase for public assembly and kitchen space.
